Experience Fine Dining at The Volanti Restaurant in Scottsdale Airport

Whether you’re looking for a unique place to have your mid-day mimosa and take in the sight of private jets in motion or want to catch a quick bite before you take off yourself, Volanti restaurant offers the best seat for the show.

Volanti opened in 2018 with Dee Maza and her daughter Alec Maza—the powerhouse duo behind the eatery—at the helm. Dee Maza has more than 30 years of experience in the food and restaurant industry. Their goal is to make sure their clients receive first-class, personalized experiences.

Offering a “simple, classic, and world inspired” dining experience, this hidden gem is located on the second level of the Scottsdale Airport business center. Its floor-to-ceiling windows blend the indoor space with the open-air patio, which cantilevers over the tarmac. Whether inside or out, you can soak up the views of awe-inspiring aircraft and silhouettes of the distant mountains.

If the view alone isn’t enough to pique your interest, the elevated menu should. The Hundred Dollar Hamburger, which includes a bottle of Veuve 375 champagne, parmesan truffle fries and caviar, feels like you’re dining first class. The Wild Mushroom King Prawn Pasta, made of grilled jumbo shrimp, tagliatelle pasta, chipotle spicy cream sauce, wild mushroom, tomato, avocado, and queso fresco, will ignite your taste buds. 

Recently, I had the opportunity to grab lunch at Volanti. I started with the Farmers Market Crudité, a platter of hummus topped with feta cheese and paired with grilled pita points, yellow and orange carrots, and garnished with a watermelon radish. The dish was well blended, flavorful and the perfect selection to ease my hunger without filling me up. 

To keep things light, I ordered Mahi Mahi Tacos, a trio of baseball-size tortillas filled with blackened mahi mahi and topped with a chopped citrus Mexican slaw and chipotle aioli. I noted the classic espresso martini on the menu to experience when I return for happy hour.

The restaurant offers more than just a dining experience. The founders also host private events in the restaurant’s hangar and private helicopter tours over the valley paired with three-course meals.
