Good Karma from Stowe Mountain Lodge superfood cocktail

Superfoods are showing up in more places than just our plates.

Fruits and vegetables that are packed with antioxidants, including blueberries, watermelon and kale, are in everything from beauty products to cocktails. Incorporating fresh fruits and herbs into drinks helps add a good-for-you kick, along with plenty of natural flavor, without having to add sugar. So the next time you’re in the mood for a cocktail, head to the produce section first, or one of these chic locales, for a superfood cocktail.

Nestled in the mountains overlooking the picture perfect ski town of Stowe, the Stowe Mountain Lodge looks like a traditional Alpine ski lodge but has plenty of modern amenities. The ski-in, ski-out luxury resort also includes a golf resort, on-site performing arts center, spa and an aerial adventure course. The dining options focus on locally sourced food and the cocktails at the Hourglass Lounge incorporate made-in-Vermont ice cider, vodka and beer from brands such as Green Mountain Distillery. The Good Karma cocktail at the Hourglass Lounge contains hydrating cucumber and cleansing cilantro, while lime and ginger add vitamin C, making it an organic superfood you can indulge in.

Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain is one of the top resorts in the country, but its Jade Bar is a gathering spot for both locals and hotel guests. Settle in with a drink and take in the views over Paradise Valley or have a seat next to the fireplace on a chilly evening. The craft cocktails are created by lead mixologist and Arizona native, Eddie Garcia. His Ronin Punch is packed with good-for-you, organic superfood ingredients, including kombucha (a probiotic), as well as ginger and yuzu, which offer vitamin C and anti-inflammatory benefits.

BLUEBERRY MINT SHRUB FROM PARK HYATT BEAVER CREEK
This cocktail packs in the antioxidants thanks to three key ingredients: vinegar, blueberries, and green tea. The dash of local honey also helps to soothe seasonal allergies. The blueberry mint shrub was created by the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek’s in-house mixologist, MJ Jozaitis. The Colorado-based resort overlooks Beaver Creek Mountain, and offers ski-in, ski-out access during the winter. In the warmer months, guests can hike the Colorado Rockies or just relax at the spa.
