What if wearing beautiful jewelry could keep you safe, too? That’s exactly what the team at Flare had in mind when they developed their unique emergency response bracelet and app.
Flare helps you get out of unwanted situations with a discreetly sent text message to your emergency contacts, or with a fake, pre-recorded phone call that provides a quick and simple excuse to leave most situations. Most importantly, Flare can send your GPS location to 911 first responders when you need it—with just a simple push of a button.
“You can’t talk about Flare without addressing how terrible it is that a product like this needs to exist,” says the co-founders of Flare. “Quite frankly we hate that we are here. Our survivor stories are not at all unique and that is a huge problem.”

Saddened that a product like this even needs to exist, Flare is running a social media campaign using the hashtag #PutFlareOutofBusiness, calling out the burden of having to worry about personal safety.
The Flare bracelet gives you that extra sense of security while helping you look stylish, too. It comes in either a beaded, leather of cuffed variety, in an assortment of colors and stone types. And since safety isn’t one-size-fits-all, the bracelet comes in two different sizes, XS/S or M/L.
To use the Flare bracelet, you’ll need to download the associated app and sign up for a safety membership. Once you have the app installed, you can choose your pre-recorded phone call and synchronize your contacts. The Flare bracelet stays connected to your phone, and you can get the help you need at any time by pushing the discreet button on the side of the bracelet.
