It’s officially engagement season. A time when couples solidify their commitment to one another through diamond rings and proposals. And with an engagement comes a wedding. Planning a wedding is often viewed as daunting and stressful, and high expectations of perfection with every detail is a common contributing factor to those feelings. Luckily, if you know the right people and places to go, planning a wedding can be exciting and fulfilling.
One of the first steps in sharing your special day is sending out wedding invitations. These invitations set the tone for your event and provide essential information to your guests. That’s why designing a beautiful wedding invitation is important. Experts at The Paper Place are no strangers to crafting captivating invitations.

“We can do just about anything when it comes to wedding invitations,” Betsy Hendricks, owner of The Paper Place, says. “We have sent out invitation boxes that have mini bouquets of flowers before.”
Hendricks has seen that the brides of today are moving away from extravagant box invitations and are leaning towards a more subtle and straightforward approach.
“People are going back to a more traditional invitation,” Hendricks says. “ I am seeing a lot of embossed invitations, a method of raising the type on the paper rather than using ink.”
The Paper Place is a family-owned business located in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale. The stationery store has been in operation since 1978. The store sells beautiful and decorative wrapping paper and gifts and caters to customization services for events and weddings.

“We have been providing services around invitations for so long, we know the etiquette behind sending an invitation,” Hendricks shares. “Because we have been in the industry for so long, we have so many resources that we can share with a bride and groom to make the process easier.”
With years of experience in the industry, Hendricks recommends that brides send their invitations out no more than three months before the wedding.
“I would strongly recommend not sending a wedding invitation out more than three months before the wedding,” Hendricks says. “That’s why you have a save the date so everyone already knows when the wedding will be and can start making their plans, and then it is followed up by a formal invitation.”
