Move over sheet masks, we’re mixing things up with the latest in powdered skincare.
From sheet masks to jelly masks and everything in between, we’ve tried just about every beauty trend out there. But sometimes, it’s good to get back to basics. After all, some things don’t need to be re-invented.
When it comes to skincare beauty, the best products are ones that you mix to use, like exfoliators, cleansers and skinca face masks, and they’ve been around for quite awhile. And now, these powdered formulations are seeing a resurgence. Unlike a pre-mixed liquid face mask, a powdered version needs to be mixed to activated, typically with water or even milk.
Why go through the trouble? A mix-to-activate formula also means your product is more stable. Active ingredients aren’t exposed to air, light and temperature changes, which is what causes a traditional bottled face mask to start to decay.
A more stable solution also means less preservatives, and the ability to customize your skincare facemasks, too. You can mix most with water but also things like coconut oil, milk or apple cider vinegar. Plus, the powder formulations makes it convenient for travel, too.
If you’re just dipping your toes into the world of makeup powders including masks and exfoliators, here are a few of our current beauty favorites.
