Unwind on the oceanfront of the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa with beautiful Pacific Ocean views and Spanish-inspired architecture.
Ilearned something on a recent visit to the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa, the historic and expansive coastal retreat in Orange County, California; Mother Nature doesn’t go into lockdowns. The sun beamed down on sun-kissed guests basking by the pool on a glorious afternoon. It set dramatically under the Pacific Ocean, and for a couple of days this late summer, things felt normal and lavishly luxurious like things should be.
With decks opening up that offer beautiful views of the pool and Pacific on the horizon, and fresh ocean breezes working their natural therapeutic wonder, you will instantaneously relax and not want to leave.
The hotel’s elegant oceanfront setting sets it apart from other properties, simply because of its location. It overlooks miles of beaches in Huntington Beach, a surfer’s mecca with an electric and eclectic vibe year-round. An epic location is something out of the control of luxury resorts. If they happen to have one, it’s a wonderful start, but in order to stand the test of time and continue to be recognized as a true OC treasure, it takes a track record of proven performance. Even with late summer limitations, the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa still over-achieved in regard to service and amenities.
This is a big, family-friendly hotel that offers 517 guest rooms. For a luxury staycation or weekend getaway, consider one of the 57 total suites the hotel offers, including 3 Presidential Suites. The setting was so lush and inviting, with outdoor water fountains creating a soothing natural soundtrack and a sight of the ocean that would never get old just yards away.
There are multiple dining opportunities, ranging from casual poolside options all the way up to the contemporary American steakhouse Watertable, a long-time go-to spot for SoCal locals. The dinner we enjoyed at Watertable was al fresco, outside during sunset on a spectacular evening, and it was a wonderful experience. The setting was so lush and inviting, with outdoor water fountains creating a soothing natural soundtrack and a sight of the ocean that would never get old just yards away.
The cocktail menu was inventive. Bourbon fans staying at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa must try the Kentucky Tap Water concoction or the Watertable Old Fashioned. Tequila, gin and vodka drinkers will find specialty items to enjoy, and wine enthusiasts have hundreds of options from a wine list fit for a king.
