In recognition of Veteran’s Day, plan a trip to the best war and veteran memorials around the world that honor American men and women serving our country.

Travel often walks us through some of the world’s most historic events that shape the world as it stands today. At ICONIC LIFE, we seek to bridge momentous experiences in new places while nodding to the history and persons that contributed to these unique locales. Previously, we celebrated the Fourth of July in colonial Williamsburg and paid tribute to the lives lost on September 11th, 2001 with a visit to the powerful 9/11 Pentagon Memorial.

This November, we celebrate Veterans Day to honor everyone who has served in the U.S. Military and sacrificed for their country. Veterans Day, formally known as Armistice Day, was originally deemed a legal holiday on November 11, 1938 to honor the end of World War I. This year, consider taking the long weekend to remember the veterans in your life at these international locations from Normandy to the Netherlands.

The region in Western France is filled with World War II memorials like the Normandy American Cemetery, the Omaha Memorial Museum and the Overlord Museum. With so many military attractions in the area, history buffs are advised to book a VIP private tour with Normandy at War Tours.
