You may recognize the area by the ICONIC 22-story steel-framed Flatiron Building Designed by American architect Daniel Burnham, another creative who called NoMad home. So, we invite you to drop your bags and stay while—even if you have just a New York minute.

PUTTIN’ ON THE RITZ

Amongst the many glittering hotels fit for modern royalty, we have our sights set on The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad, a top-tier luxury hotel in New York. The Ritz Carlton New York, NoMad first opened its doors in July 2022 just two blocks from the park on Broadway and West 28th Street in a bustling yet refined area of the burrough. The building was designed by award-winning Uruguayan architect Rafael Viñoly, known for his international masterpieces as well as the nearby building in NoMad, an ICONIC penthouse in the tallest building on Fifth Avenue.

Guests are welcomed into The Ritz Carlton New York, NoMad through a grand foyer flowing with jungle plants, to the jewel-toned lounge and  into the dazzling lobby bar. What feels like an ode to the roaring twenties, the scene is as if it were set for Ella Fitzgerald herself. Opulent cocktails are opened from smoking glass cloches and savored amongst the crowd of romantics and famous faces hoping to disappear into the plush furnishings. In classic and luxury New York style, no two tables of guests look the same.

What we love most about this hotel are the views from every angle. The Empire State Building and Manhattan skyline are at eye-level while the Statue of Liberty can be seen in the distance. The Ritz Carlton New York, NoMad’s ceiling height picture windows let you witness the city waking each morning and setting on the nighttime views, which are nothing short of cinematic.

It’s not just the dazzling atmosphere of The Ritz Carlton New York, Nomad that draws people in, people travel far to experience dinner at Zaytinya, the hotel’s main floor restaurant created by beloved Michelin-starred chef José Andrés. The mezze menu is designed to be shared by all, transforming the tabletop into an array of Mediterranean tastings, from Turkey to Lebanon. Fire-roasted baba ghannouge, crispy falafels, a medley of grilled octopus, garlic shish taouk, and cured artisanal cheeses are only some of the scrumptious menu items José Andrés concocts and are best enjoyed with a side of warmed flatbread. The space is a spectacle of bronze finishes, white oak, curved furniture and hand-painted lamps all punctuated by a blue-lava bar top and sprawling wall of turquoise disc lights that seem to blink back at you.

The hotel’s most talked about jewel is the crown atop the roof where Nubeluz glows over NoMad. Envisioned as a light box in the sky by Viñoly and brought to life by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, it was by far our favorite lookout with a setting of demure, old glamor. Pink velvet seats against back-lit velum panels and mirrored surfaces twinkle around the bar and restaurant. Serving up specialty cocktails poured by proper mixologists along with José Andrés’ embutidos. Floor-to-ceiling windows line the entire space, allowing for 270-degree views of NYC to be sunk in.
