He began his career in London in the early eighties, and then moved to the states after accepting an offer to work at the Boston Design Center. Continuing his career, Peacock worked as a kitchen designer in New York at the Architects and Designers Building and then launched his own brand, Christopher Peacock Cabinetry, in 1992.

“I don’t think when there’s anyone quite like us, and that’s not to say that there are no other fantastic cabinet makers out there, but the way we do what we do is somewhat unique in the marketplace,” says Christopher Peacock.

We built our business on repeat business and recommendations, and still to this day working with clients that we have known for 20 years, and I think that’s because what we bring to the table is a collaborative,” says Peacock. “It’s very much a collaborative process for us to try and understand and immerse ourselves in what the client is looking for and what the design team are looking for and working seamlessly with the construction team to make sure that we’re actually a benefit to them rather than an adversary.”

“There’s a lot of contemporary kitchen cabinetry out there on the market, and it’s beautiful. I would never really try to compete with those people, because they do it too well, and it’s also because it’s just not what I like. I tend to like comfortable things that are well made and easy on the eye to understand.”

Peacock’s classic approach to cabinetry works hand-in-hand with his client’s love for a comfortable, timeless look, which has become more crucial than ever during COVID.

“I’m seeing an underpinning of what I’ve been saying for a while, which is people want well-made comfortable livable things,” says Christopher Peacock. “COVID pushed everybody to think differently and to reassess their values and what’s important to them, and so if there is a silver lining out of this pandemic, it is people have started to think a lot more about their own personal situation in their own lives and the way they live.

“I think there’s no greater place than being in your home and everybody feels safe and comfortable, and because of that everybody is focusing on making their homes sanctuaries,” he says.
