VIVOOD LANDSCAPE HOTEL | Alicante, Spain
Located in the Southeastern coastal Spanish town of Alicante, all the rooms at the adults-only VIVOOD, designed by VIVOOD Architects, are perched high in the air for those who like to sleep in the trees, and enjoy views while staying at a venue with the best landscape hotel design.
Pools are lined in black to act as a mirror for the natural surroundings. The suites and villas are designed so guests can watch the sunrise, sunset and see dark skies studded with stars—all while they relax in a posh environment.

The landscape hotel property features a total of 10 villas. Perhaps the most luxe offering is the Pool Premium Villa featuring a heated outdoor pool with sweeping, panoramic views of the Valley of Guadalest. The villa also features a plush king size bed, outdoor shower, solarium terrace and an indoor rain effect shower.
VIVOOD’s on-site spa is also notable. Like the entire property, the spa has a special focus on nature. Massage therapists use 100-percent organic massage oils. Use a sauna, a hammam, a bi-thermal tunnel where you can cleanse your body, a salt-water sensory deprivation tank and an indoor heated pool and lounge so you can really relax.
One of the spa’s most prominent features is the 5 Elements Ritual. This is a five-stage therapeutic circuit inspired by the five elements of nature in Ayurvedic culture: earth, water, air, fire and ether.

JUVET LANDSCAPE HOTEL | Valldal, Norway
Norway’s Juvet Landscape Hotel’s tagline is “Leave the world behind you.” And the hotel is serious about that statement. It’s located in in a remote part of Norway on the northwest coast—giving guests a chance to truly disconnect, even in a technology-saturated world.
The award-winning architecture is the best landscape hotel design—minimal and modern. The striking cube Landscape Rooms sit on stilts and feature one or two entirely glass walls offering gorgeous views of the courtyard and the Valldøla River. Each room gets its own exclusive views. Rooms don’t face other rooms, so guests can have privacy.
Property-wide features include the restored, century-old, red wood barn featuring sweeping views of the area is where guests can enjoy breakfast and dinner. At dinner time, guests feast on locally sourced cuisine on a long communal table.
The on-site spa, The Bath House, features a steam sauna, hot tub, a silent room and showers. Like the rest of Juvet, the spa was created to help visitors connect with the environment. When the weather’s good, guests can relax on loungers outside as they watch the river babble. SACROMONTE LANDSCAPE HOTEL | Pueblo Eden, Uruguay
Located on 250 acres in eastern Uruguay’s Maldonado region, Sacromonte Landscape Hotel is a winery and landscape hotel. Four small houses nestled in the vineyard provide stunning views. The Vineyard “Shelter”—the hotel’s word for the casitas—features dark stone floors, light oak panels, a plush king-size bed topped with 450-thread-count cotton sheets, a private pool and reflected glass.
Be sure to step outside to see the gorgeous landscapes mirrored in the exterior. Property-wide amenities include a picnic table that can seat up to 50 where guests can enjoy cuisine made from the property’s own organic garden and wine from the on-site vineyard alfresco.

AMBIENTE | Sedona, Arizona
Slated to open in early 2021, Ambiente in Sedona, Arizona, is poised to become the first landscape hotel in North America, developed, owned and managed by Sedona family-owned and -operated company, Two Sister Bosses.
Ambiente will feature 40 cubed-shaped, guest “atriums” that are elevated above the ground by steel piers and constructed using floor-to-ceiling, bronze-tinted glass and matte-charcoal and rusted metal, showcasing the best landscape hotel design At dusk, the tinted glass reflects the nature surrounding the property—creating mirrored silhouettes of Sedona’s stunning red rocks.
