Wanting to add a new workout routine to your gift list, but need a recommendation? Lucky Penny Lagree, a Lagree studio in Gilbert, is the perfect blend of beauty and burn, offering a great workout in a gorgeous studio. I recently took a class there, and I can personally vouch that this workout will have you toned in no time– with consistency and the proper diet, of course.
For those unfamiliar, Lagree is a high-intensity, low-impact workout that promotes slow, controlled movements to strengthen and boost endurance, with a heavy focus on core work.
Owner of Lucky Penny Lagree, McKenna Beahan, took her first Lagree class while living in California, instantly impressed and drawn to the depths the workout provides, Beahan was hooked. When she moved to Arizona, she noticed a deficiency of Lagree studios across the Valley, which prompted her to open Lucky Penny in July 2025.
The road to opening wasn’t without its challenges. From finding the right space to managing the buildout and navigating the stresses of entrepreneurship while working full-time, McKenna faced many moments of uncertainty. But through it all, the unwavering support of friends and family kept her grounded and motivated. Every obstacle became a reminder of her “why”: to create a space that empowers others to bet on themselves and discover their own strength.

Beahan aimed to create a welcoming community of individuals who wanted to better themselves, a place where all feel at home. A sentiment I felt the second I walked through the front door.
I had never taken a Lagree class before– and transparently, I was rusty on my Pilates skills– so I was nervous for the workout. Beahan greeted me warmly and walked me through the machines, which at first glance looked overwhelming, but with her guidance, I had my bearings. Beahan also gave me some tips and tricks for navigating the class and welcomed any questions that may arise during the class.

Her instruction was explicit, the music choice kept me energized and the workout had me feeling the burn. I was proud of myself by the end; it gave me the ever-so-sweet feeling of accomplishment. I recommend this workout style for those who crave a challenge beyond Pilates but still want a low-impact workout.
