Celebrate National Margarita Day with Don Fulano

“Each of the five expressions in the Don Fulano portfolio is additive-free and made with high-quality ingredients, including 100 percent estate-owned, mature agave, proprietary yeast and natural spring volcanic water,” Sergio Mendoza, co-founder of Don Fulano tequila, says.

Today, Don Fulano is one of the only remaining family-owned tequila companies that is 100 percent self-sustained, which allows them to produce tequila that is exceptional in quality and taste.

“This begins with hand-selecting mature agave – only from Maduro and Pinto plants – followed by a dual distillation process passed down from generations,” Mendoza explains. “This helps ensure each bottle has high-quality ingredients free of any additives.”

Don Fulano is the legacy of the Fonseca family, who have been harvesting agave and distilling tequila for more than 140 years. The agave used to create Don Fulano tequila is sourced from their estate in the Highlands of Jalisco. After harvesting the agave, the tequila is then distilled at La Tequileña distillery in Tequila, Mexico.

In the Don Fulano portfolio, each expression pays tribute to the tradition and rich history of the company, the Fonseca family and high-quality tequila.

While Don Fulano Blanco has notes of highland agave, dried fruit and grilled pineapple, other expressions have a more earthy essence and aromatic flavor. 

Reposado tastes of warm vanilla bean, cinnamon, nutmeg, coconut and sweet prunes. Other expressions also carry notes of vanilla bean, like Añejo, which sustains a more tropical flavor with its notes of baked banana and fresh citrus, giving it a full-bodied experience. 

The expressions of Imperial tequila and the award-winning Fuerte can be recognized by their smoothness, with the former having notes of dark chocolate, roasted nuts and black cherries for a more fruit-focused finish, the latter with its sophisticated balance despite its high-proof and essence of Orange Blossom and Jasmine.
