Attention all Arizona builders, we have heard your requests and the 2026 ICONIC Design Awards will now feature a new category for building. This new category will celebrate all aspects of excellence in building, and the specific subcategories are listed as follows:
B01: Building: Use of Sustainable Materials
B02: Building: Renovation Residence Up To 3,500 SF
B03: Building: Renovation Residence 3,500 To 6,500 SF
B04: Building: Renovation Residence 6,500 To 8,500 SF
B05: Building: Renovation Residence More Than 8,500 SF
B06: Building: Front Elevation/Curb Appeal
B07: Building: Creative Problem Solving

In place of a single award for residences ranging from 3,500 to 8,500 square feet, the 2026 program will now recognize two distinct size categories—3,500 to 6,500 square feet and 6,500 to 8,500 square feet—a change that applies across interior design, architecture and building categories.
Additional new awards for 2026 include Excellence in Architecture: Garage Design, as well as Wellness Space honors for both architects and interior designers (Excellence in Architecture: Wellness Space and Excellence in Interior Design: Wellness Space).

The submission portal opens January 15, and as always, all entries will be judged blindly by a national panel of leading architects, builders, interior designers and product designers.
