Pop Star Bruno Mars expands his repertoire as co-owner of SelvaRey Rum.
SelvaRey Rum was already a consumer favorite when Bruno Mars entered the picture in 2020. But the pop icon’s involvement with the popular brand of single-estate rums, crafted in the jungles of Panama, has served to further elevate SelvaRey’s standing within the spirits world. As co-owner along with his Silk Sonic duo partner Anderson Paak and SelvaRey founders Marc and Seth Gold and Robert Herzig, Mars is more than just a celebrity sponsor and a pretty face.
As evidenced by his musical success and standing as one of the world’s biggest pop stars, Mars is a creative force, and he’s expanded his talents to include product design; he reimagined the SelvaRey logo and bottle shape and provides the creative direction and vision for the brand whose name loosely translates to “king of the jungle.”

The portfolio, made sustainably by master distiller Francisco “Don Pancho” Fernandez with the highest quality ingredients (and no additives), includes decadently smooth white, coconut, chocolate, and an owner’s reserve rums. Mars’ creative goal? To make imbibers feel like they are on a tropical vacation via a simple sip, a catchy bespoke jingle, and the packaging addition of a colorful toucan—and to make sure every element feels like the rum tastes. To Mars, that taste is “tropical luxury,” or, an island getaway in a glass.
