Best Rooftops in Denver | Sipping Under the Stars

The Red Barber — Lucy Beaugard

From elevated bar experiences to elegant, open-air dining lounges, the best rooftops in Denver offer an ideal spot to watch the sunset.

With record snowfalls, consistent mild temps and 300 glorious days of sunshine a year, no wonder people are moving to Denver in droves. Known to house some of the most opulent hospitality hotspots in the country, the  “Centennial State” offers exclusive access to incredible sunsets and picturesque, panoramic views.

So, with the warmer nights upon us, we’ve gone that extra mile to highlight a few of the best rooftops in Denver where you can unwind, reflect and celebrate any occasion under the sun.

Kisbee on the Roof

Kisbee on the Roof is a seductive summit perched on the rooftop of The Jacquard Hotel, Autograph Collection in Cherry Creek North. With its fluorescent blue color and warm, silent waves, the pool is the focal point surrounded by guests who can enjoy curated cocktails and light bites. Whether you’re looking for majestic mountain views or a dazzling evening under the stars, Kisbee on the Roof piques your curiosity no matter what your pleasure.

“The best part of our rooftop bar is how well we preserve the views of both the Rockies and Downtown Denver. The open layout and being nine stories above Cherry Creek allow us to fully capitalize on the views,” General Manager Alice McMillan explains.

Being centrally-located in Cherry Creek also adds value to this, as access is easy and there is plenty to do nearby. The other reason is that we have a very ‘mixologist-inspired’ cocktail menu—which changes seasonally, allowing us to try cocktails that are still classic at heart, but think outside the box. We can keep up with the most current trends in the industry.”

Upscale and prestigious, Kisbee on the Roof is home to various VIP parties, runway shows and social celebrations. With seasonal menus, Happy Hour and DJs every Thursday in the summer, the best rooftop in Denver isn’t just for swanky get-togethers—it’s open to overnight guests as well.

Nestled on the 20th floor of Le Méridien Denver Downtown, 54thirty rooftop is just steps away from The Colorado Convention Center and the popular Arts District—ideal for visitors who want to explore the city. Everyone experiences an immediate “wow” moment as soon as they exit the elevators and walk past the bar. However, this ICONIC rooftop bar offers more than just stunning views.

In addition to hosting parties for a number of holidays and special events, such as Cinco de Mayo, Kentucky Derby, Halloween and more, this fan favorite offers elevated beats every Thursday night with music by DJ Manos. The bar’s menu offers upscale libations, a wide selection of local beers, bubbles and wine—as well as creative cocktails that complement the seasons. Notably, their memorable dishes feature bold flavors with something for everyone.

The overall ambience, globally-inspired bites and hand-crafted cocktails all work hand-in-hand to create one of the best rooftops in Denver, with an incredible ability to bring people together.

54thirty is Denver’s highest open-air rooftop bar and we have unparalleled views of the Mile High City skyline along with unobstructed views of the Rocky Mountains, which means our sunsets are on another level,” Roy Castro, General Manager at 54thirty, says. “We’re constantly looking for innovative ways to keep the parties going all year long.”

Los Chingones

Located in the heart of the River North Art District (RiNo), Los Chingones rooftop is the perfect casual yet trendy gathering place before heading to a Colorado Rockies game or experiencing the nightlife in the art district. Visitors love the energetic atmosphere and to-die-for culinary options that are raved about by local and international foodies alike.

Los Chingones is infamous for its exciting dishes as well as a multitude of holiday specials and extravaganzas, such as the annual Rockies Home Opener Celebration and Cinco de Mayo Fiesta. Featuring Michelin Star Chef Troy Guard’s amazing culinary creations, this popular rooftop bar serves top-notch Mexican food like tacos, nachos, elote, housemade salsas and even some unique items like Mexican ramen.

“My team has done a killer job with a great selection of house cocktails as well,” Guard, Executive Chef and Owner of TAG Restaurant Group, says. “My favorite is our classic Los Marg but you can’t go wrong sipping on a Brazilian Blanco Sangria or Milagro Frozen Marg during a sunny day on the rooftop.”

Suffice to say, this best rooftop bar in Denver brings nothing but fun, unique events and specials to locals and visitors alike. “Our rooftop patio at Los Chingones RiNo is one of my favorite places in the city. It’s the spot to be for weekend hangouts, happy hour drinks, sharing pitchers of margaritas, taking in the views of the city and soaking up that Colorado sun.”

Reynard Social

Reynard Social is located on the 6th floor sunroom lounge in the boutique hotel, Thompson Denver. It has undeniable expansive views of the Rocky Mountains, Lower Downtown (LoDo) and the Denver skyline. This high-in-the-sky swanky bar opened in tandem with the hotel in February 2022—and has had visitors chomping at the bit to get in since day one.

Interestingly, this popular social spot’s name is a nod to the character of Reynard the Fox, a whimsical character from European folklore whose mischievous nature and ingenious schemes never fail to topple the vain, the pompous and the crooked.

Reynard Social rounds out our food and beverage offerings in true Denver fashion,” Thompson Denver’s GM, Amanda Parsons, says. “While [our hotel’s restaurant] Chez Maggy boasts a French influence and elegance to the first floor, Reynard Social’s 6th floor lounge gives guests that moodier ambiance with dim lighting, chic design and Denver skyline views year-round.”

Ultimately, Reynard Social rooftop in Denver brings imbibers high-end cocktails and chef-driven small bites with their seasonally driven menus, curated wine list and an extensive local beer selection. The lounge’s large, wraparound windows open up in the summertime to create an open-air rooftop ambiance backdropped by Colorado’s stunning mountain views.

The Red Barber, From the Hip

Offering an unparalleled vantage point to the junction of skyline, mountains and cityscape, The Red Barber is a jovial rooftop bar retreat with 360-degree views, perched high above the city. The menu is designed to share and keep guests engaged with one another, featuring savory bites and a range of libations, wine and beer.

“Visitors can enjoy live music, life-sized lawn games and endless entertainment that changes every day, as well as picturesque photo opportunities at every turn,” Allegra Wolff, Director of Food & Beverage at The Red Barber, says. “The 3,300 square-foot space can adapt to suit any occasion, featuring an event deck, fire-pits, picnic lawn, amphitheater and hybrid indoor-outdoor bar.”

With picture-worthy views of the Rocky Mountains and Mile High City’s skyline, The Red Barber is an upscale destination to connect and explore. In particular, the space is designed for large gatherings or small interactions with unique offerings every week, including rooftop yoga, live music, pop-up shows and more. The menu features savory bites and creative cocktails as well as other rooftop staples, suitable for any occasion.

Devil’s Kitchen

Devil’s Kitchen, inspired by unique rock formations of the same name within the nearby Colorado National Monument, provides panoramic views of the surrounding mountains from atop Hotel Maverick in Grand Junction, Colorado—the gateway to Denver via the Rocky Mountains.

Devil’s Kitchen is deeply intertwined in the spirit of Colorado Mesa University.

“The rooftop restaurant features floor-to-ceiling windows and an expansive patio, offering a fluid indoor/outdoor experience and sweeping views of the surrounding red rock landscape, as well as the Colorado Mesa University (CMU) campus below,” Tracy Johnson, Director of Food & Beverage at Devil’s Kitchen, says. As an educational hotel and restaurant, it offers a hands-on learning environment, in which guests experience students’ passion and enthusiastic curiosity as they learn the ins and outs of both front-of-house and back-of-house roles. Additional nods to scholastic roots are incorporated into the hotel and restaurant menus.”

When it comes to ambiance and taste, everything is bar none. This culinary destination features a vibrant design to match its regionally inspired menu, complete with locally sourced ingredients. In other words, Devil’s Kitchen brings a whole new elevation to the local dining scene. Capitalizing on fresh and locally sourced ingredients, Devil’s Kitchen offers a spectrum of specialties that appeal to everyone. Curated from a lengthy list of local purveyors, the menu at Devil’s Kitchen leans into seasonal offerings in the form of comfortable classics. This summer, the rooftop will debut new outdoor seating and décor.
