Healthy skin is in. And paying attention to the quality of our skincare in 2020 goes way beyond looking at artificial additives and chemicals as consumers demand transparency on all levels. Bridging all things wellness and beauty is EN Salon—our newest obsession in skincare. The salon and spa are an extension of legacy brand Lenor Japan Co., Ltd., who has been in the industry for 20 years and is now sharing their striking expression of holistic skincare along the streets of Paris.

Debuting last spring, the modern and elegantly appointed EN beauty salon storefront and spa is located along the City of Lights’ uber-posh district in the 6th arrondissement and welcomes visitors into their exclusive world. In this Parisian salon, clients are taken through tranquil interiors that mimic the feel of a luxury wine cellar with touches of organic elements. Take note of the gilded columns evoking a specific regality we love to experience when visiting the charming city of Paris. Pair this chic vibe with white-brick archways and pendant light fixtures that illuminate your path as you traipse through EN salon’s three beauty treatment rooms spread across two floors.
The Paris-based architects at Archiee lent their creativity to this project in collaboration with the owner of EN to achieve a high-design aesthetic that glows from the inside out, a nod to EN Salon’s skincare line that aims to do the same.
Previously, ICONIC LIFE has covered farm-to-face beauty brands regarding the importance of mindfully sourcing skincare ingredients as well as honoring brands who are taking an eco-conscious approach to their entire supply chain, making it better for the planet and better for us. So when shopping for high-quality beauty products and treatments, it’s important to understand the ingredients infused into these balms and tinctures, including where the plants are harvested and the specific properties they contain.
At EN Salon, beauty happens from the inside out, taking clients on a journey of wellness specially curated for every client. By crafting bespoke skin treatments that use powerful plant extracts from Japan and other regions around the world, they can customize blends for your exact needs. Raw ingredients from Japan include green tea leaves or “matcha” as well as precious rock salts that are used in their scrubs, some of which are even sourced from the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Yakushima Island in the south of Japan.

In addition to these, EN Salon has a sumptuous beauty line of lotions to target a variety of skincare needs. A couple of standout lotions we love are Gettou, which is made from the Alpinia Zerembut plant, more commonly known as shell ginger, that contains polyphenols known for their astringent effect and can also be used as a natural sun-protectant. Their Hinoki Lotion is made from cypress that has been used for centuries in Japan as timber in temples and shrines. It is especially beneficial when used on the skin as the ingredient has many skin-purifying properties.
After an experiential EN Salon spa consultation to help client’s identify the most beneficial combination of serums, oils and exfoliating scrubs for their skin’s unique needs, they are taken to indulge in a “Linn” or “Sui” facial, which are the Parisian salon’s foundational treatments that can be modified to blend body massage and reflexology (a type of foot massage linked to overall health).
The shared mantra amongst the EN Salon staff is that this custom spa experience is one of self-alignment, so you always leave feeling informed, empowered and rejuvenated.

WHAT: Obtained from the root of Amorphophallus Konjac, or devil’s longue, konjac is a commodity that is normally cooked and consumed. In cosmetics, konjac is used in the form of a sponge yielding a soft exfoliation and ideal for the most sensitive of skin types.
WHY: Konjac is rich in glucomannan, a fiber capable of absorbing large volumes of water, and is a very valuable ally for moisturizing the skin. At EN, they have transformed konjac into a small grain scrub.
HOW: Designed to be used with EN’s Cleansing Balm, you can mix the product with a little water in the palm of your hand, then applied to the skin with light circular movements. This gentle scrub exfoliates, unclogs pores, and eliminates dead skin cells to leave skin feeling fresh and smooth for a purified complexion.
